Les Nomades: User Reviews
Not very inspirational...bad service, boring flavors, over prices....many many better options at this pricepoint in Chicago. Very dissapointed.

Had another wonderful experience at Les Nomades this weekend. As usual, the service and food were impeccable. This is fine dining at its best. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Unlike some other high end restaurants, the staff her seems happy to help you and answer all your questions. My only wish is that I could afford to eat here more often.
I hope the economic downturn doesn't hurt this and many other of Chicago's fine restaurants!

My mother and I have been to Chicago and had a lovely dinner at Les Nomades. The restaurant is cozy, the service is very nice, attentive and polite and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. It was, definitely, an unique experience.

Les Nomades has been on a list of restaurants my wife and I have wanted to try and we chose our wedding anniversary as the excuse to make a reservation.
We were not disappointed!
In fact we both remarked that the meal and experience we had on Saturday night was possibly one of the finest we have ever had. The food was exceptional. The service was exemplary. Les Nomades is somewhat of throw back to restaurant...think Ambria but smaller, elegant, formal. The decor was just as old school. I remember telling my wife that I felt we were back in the 30s or 40s given the lighting, the decor, the hushed tones (no club music or acid jazz playing in the background). In fact the décor is unremarkable which leaves one with outstanding food and service equal to the meal. In the name of fair and balanced restaurant reviewing I must point out one medium sized disappointment. We both asked for wine pairing with our meals and were a little disappointed in our choices. My wife had the same glass of chardonnay for both the app and soup course for example.
Other than that we loved Les Nomades. We read the other, not so hot review(s) and wondered what restaurant had those patrons dined? Not our experience at all.

Visited with very high hopes and ended up being very very disappointed. Went for anniversary and will not return. The Grilled Tasmanian Salmon was very dry. The duck breast was overcooked. Shortly after visit, went to Taste of Chicago and low and behold, Les Nomades is featured at the Gourmet Tent. I ended up giving them another chance and tried the Shrimp and Remoulade Sandwich with Heirloom Tomato Soup. It was not good and not worth the tickets.

My gentleman friend wanted to try Les Nomades before going to a play. Neither of us had eaten there before. It was a real treat for us both. The ambiance is cozy and warm, on a snowy winter night, with the fireplaces burning. The wait staff was attentive, efficient, very pleasant and helpful. I felt as if we were the most important customers in the whole restaurant. I watched as the staff treated every person at every table in the same manner. The food was heavenly and, although a bit pricey, worth every sous. I would go back every night, if I could.

Visited Les Nomades for anniversary. It did not meet my expectations. The staff simply is not polished and trained enough for the level one would expect at this type of establishment. Having to remind a waiter about an order, having the wrong silverware put out and not having your napkin refolded when going to the restroom are a few examples of the problems experienced. The service issues were just irritating the entire night. I have had much better experiences at TRU and Everest.
Report This ReviewPlease go here in the wintertime. The fireplace in the entrance provides every "traveler" with warmth and comfort. The owner has been there everytime I've visited this restaurant, which, for a while, was once a week. She sets the tone. Everyone, from the service staff to the sommelier to the chef, is on point. I've never had a regrettable meal here...in fact, I've had some of my finest within the walls of Les Nomades. Do NOT miss it...
Report This ReviewLes Nomades isn't the most dramatic or most original or most flashy restaurant, but I felt it was the best in Chicago. We tried Tru, Spiaggia, and Everest as well, but Les Nomades beat all of them. The food was the best, though the bread was not great as others mentioned. Again, the room, food, and service are very tradional, so if you are looking for something new, this probably isn't the place. But its the best for high quality food. Also, its nice because it is quiet and dignified.
Report This ReviewMy husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Les Nomades last week. Everything was wonderful--as good as it gets. The entire staff made us feel welcomed and special. I would suggest this place to anyone.
