Le Titi de Paris: User Reviews
I was really shocked when I walked into Le Titi de Paris and saw how dated the decor had become since my last visit about 8 years ago. The person greeting us at the door was so wonderfully effusive that she made up for the look. Now I have to say the food was spectacular and our whole table (5 of us) really enjoyed everything we ordered. The owners (the chefs) walked around and stopped at many tables but never stopped by ours which was disappointing. The issue that bothered me the most was the absolutely abysmal service we had. Now Pepe (the captain) tried to make amends when we told him of the incredibly bad service of his bus staff, but even he could not make up for their failures. One server knocked one guest in the head with the starter plates as he was clearing, but never stopped to apogize, even thought the guest clearly let him know that he had hit him in the head. Another server literally threw the dinner rolls on the plates. But probably the most galling incident in a place of this caliber was the first wine service. I tasted the wine, told the server it was fine. The server then continued to pour the wine into my gass. I stopped him and said, please serve the ladies at the table rather than me. After serving the ladies and with other guests still at the table, he comes back to me and starts to fill my glass. I again stopped him and asked him to fill the glasses of my other guests and then to come back and fill my glass last. I should not have to give instructions like this to a server in a restaurant of this magnitude. I think the owners/chefs need to do some really serious training and better oversight. My choice of words for the service would be: rushed, harried, thoughtless, and careless. I should have heeded what Chicago magazine said: "service is hit or miss." Tonight was definitely a big MISS!!!!!!!!

My friend treated me to a memorable birthday lunch here. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The lunch was beyond delicious and it was topped off by a to-die for dessert. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great place to celebrate a special occasion! We had a great time. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and attentive. French food worth driving to the suburbs for.
Report This ReviewWhat's Good: Traditional French fare. Had the Mini-Gourmand with pork and chicken being very good+ (not quite excellent). Trilogy dessert very good. Beautiful dining room, good noise control, friendly and attentive staff including a visit by Chef Maddox, and free parking!
What's not so good: Expensive wine list. They offer a wine club membership ($50) with hefty wine discounts. That's fine but it doesn't promote recruitment of new diners.
The mushroom trilogy appetizer had a common mushroom taste. Chef's gift: assorted cookies were the exact same as those offered by a famous Michigan Ave restaurant.
Didn't think that everthing was made at the restaurant.
Bottom Line: It's not perfect, but it does offer solid value (sans the wine list)
Report This ReviewWow this place is like a mini Paris. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. WE LOVED the food. Everything from appertizer to wine to dessert..4 stars! worth the money!
Report This ReviewA great dining experience. Chef Pierre personally greeted us at the door & later came to our table to help us make our wine selection. The food is terrifice (don't miss the lobster bisque) and the service is conscientious, courteous and responsive. Plan to spend a good amount of time and money to dine here, but it's well worth both.
I also disagree with the earlier review that diners under 35 should look elsewhere. We were treated very well and made to feel at home despite being younger than most other patrons.
Report This ReviewThe service was incredible. We had a really great time. Not rushed and we closed the place down. The wine guy remembered my sister from a year or 2 earlier... he een remembered her wine and brought it to her. They matched our dinners up with awesome wine. And I am never satisfied.. but I was here. I don't like a lot of wines but he found one I would like by asking a few questions. And hit the nail on the head. At the time, the three of us were under 35. The bill was not pretty but it was a full evening of entertainment. So I think the value was there. The dessert was great too.
