This unassuming strip mall eatery offers a total departure once you step inside. A glass-topped bar glowing with icy blue light resides near the front of the space, while a sushi bar brings up the rear. Everywhere else, you'll find plush, private booths upholstered in rich brocade fabrics, with each nook adorned with its own framed artwork and chandelier. The menu is mostly sushi and Asian-influenced eats, with some French dishes mixed in, like beef Bourguignon and steak au Poive. Funky maki inventions include the "first love roll" (unagi, brie, avocado, white tuna and tempura crunchies) and the "blue man roll" (soft-shell crab, cucumber, cheddar, parmesan, avocado and blueberry sauce) and other rolls inflected with cheese, fruit and unique sauces. The drink list offers a dozen or so martinis (including a super-fresh cucumber one) and Japanese beers.
