I have to say that I loved the Fundo Experience. Dinner was great!
The portions were just right. I agree that it’s very cramped and we didn't get lucky to get a booth, but we still enjoyed our experience there. Although, I was there just with a friend, we still enjoyed the aura! I would go back and recommend for anyone looking to experience something different. If you don't like sitting close to strangers then wait for a booth.

Geja's is good for what it is, a fondue restaurant stuck in 1966. I'm sure it's better than the johnny-come-lately fondue chains, which I have and will never go to, but it's still just heavy, rich and tedious fondue. The ambiance and service perhaps make it romantic. However, who is thinking about being romantic with a tub of molten cheese and hot oil sitting on the table? I guess it's good for impressing your junior prom date, just be careful that you don't lock your braces together.

Have eaten here several times and am always impressed by the freshness of the veggies and the high quality meat. The atmosphere is very romantic, but space is tight- try to get a booth if possible. The staff is friendly and there are several reasonably priced wines (try the house Cabernet Sauvignon). They have also let us use expired gift certificates a couple times, so that is appreciated. Make sure you go in the Winter or Spring and dress in layers, things can get toasty inside.

The first time I went to Gejas the wait was at least an hour it was an Saturday night. Then we were seated at our table close to the kitchen with a lot of traffic, wait staff inadvertently nudging me, other guest bumping me as they move around the restaurant. One would think I would have walked out livid, but the food, service and atmosphere was so wonderful it didn't matter to me...Since then I have planned to go again and again. That was more than 5 yrs ago, well next week I am going and I am SO EXCITED I can hardly wait. This time we requested a booth even though they are first come first serve, we will wait for one.
Go and enjoy spending your mulah!!!

We went to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed by Geijas Cafe. We went on a Saturday night and while it was a little earlier than we usually eat, the relaxed atmosphere let us take our time while eating. The food is wonderful and you get plenty. Try the white sangria....it is nice a light, which is a good complement to the fondue. We've done other "chain" fondue restaurants and Gaja's is far superior! The quality of meat and seafood, as well as the taste of the food, is wonderful.
While we didn't sit in a booth, it wasn't a problem. The tables are a little close, but we didn't have a problem with hearing each other.
The only negative we experienced was our waiter wasn't the best at explaining things. He spoke very softly, making it hard for us to hear him at times. However, the service was prompt and friendly. We never felt rushed..when you were done with a course, they did quickly take the fondue away, but we never felt rushed to go on to the next course in the 2 1/2 hours we were there.
Nice additional touches....complimentary champagne because of our anniversary, host coming in to personally check on us during meal, sign up for gift certificate each year on our anniversary. Parking isn't expensive...$9 for valet. (We paid $23 for one hour earlier in the day in another part of Chicago!) We will definately be back!

After 15 years of marriage my wife Amelia and I make our annual September visit to Chicago’s one and only fondue restaurant. You see it was here we met on a first date and I wasn’t sure I could cook my own food, but Amelia told me how cozy and romantic this small café was in the Lincoln Park area. The mix of the dry California red wine and the popular premier dinners with the guitarist playing soft classical music is what we had that day 15 years ago and still to this day still enjoy the attraction of this café.
We sometimes get a booth and other times we get a simple table, and yes on one or two occasions we felt crowded at these tables, but that did not take away the enjoyment of good food, excellent service, wine and especially the settled in look the café has.
Geja’s Café is number one for us with it’s wines, cheeses and cozy atmosphere.

The most romantic place in the city. You have to make sure you get the booth. You can't reserve it, but make sure you get it even if you have to wait for like 30min its worth the wait. Great food, atmosphere. Must go

This place is the best - the food is great, they give you huge portions (unless you are some sort of cow-person, you'll leave totally stuffed). The ambiance is incredible, beautiful lighting, great walls made of wine bottles, and live flamenco guitar players. When you make your reservation, ask for a booth (we do every time, they have always accomodated us with no hassle at all).
Anyone who doesn't love this place is crazy...should be committed

If you must go, make sure to make a reservation for a booth, or don't bother. The tables are very close together and you'll end up eating with a random couple if you make a reservation for two.
