This Northwest Side neighborhood spot specializes in Italian, Filipino and Japanese fare, drawing inspiration from the diverse backgrounds of the three friends behind it: John Gramata, John Paul Incusci and Ryan Diaz. Though the food spans a few different cultures, it's not a fusion spot. Rather, the menu offers a mishmash of popular Italian, Filipino and Japanese dishes, many based on family recipes. You'll find caprese salad next to lumpia (Filipino eggrolls), and Wafu steak (Japanese-style skirt steak) alongside tocino (Filipino cured pork) and pasta dishes. The 100-seat dining room is unpretentious, with exposed brick walls and flat-screen TVs throughout.
