This salad-focused counter-service eatery offers an alternative to your usual burger/fries/Diet Coke lunch or dropping $20 at an uppity eatery. The cafe offers tables for about 50 people, with a flatscreen TV so you can catch up on the latest news via CNN or chat with co-workers. Step up to the counter and pick from four lettuce varieties and pile on toppings such as alfalfa sprouts, cheeses, dried cranberries, artichoke hearts, almonds, mushrooms and lots more. Top it off with one of 16 homemade salad dressings, some as unusual as cucumber wasabi. For a little extra cash, you can add proteins such as teriyaki chicken, wild Alaskan salmon or shrimp. If you don't care to dabble in the whole do-it-yourself procedure, just order a featured salad such as turkey club BLT, or go with a wrap sandwich or made-from-scratch soups.
