Chicago's best sandwiches
Forget deep dish pizza and hot dogs. Chicago is a sandwich town.
It's just too easy to hang our collective hat on one kind of pizza or a certain combination of hot dog toppings. It's also terribly limiting. (What about vegetarians? The lactose intolerant?)
Sandwiches, on the other hand, showcase our diversity. There's endless variety and plenty of room for innovation.
So in celebration of sandwiches, we bring Chicago's best to you here, one at a time. Look for a delicious new sandwich every weekday--usually before lunchtime, just in case you don't have plans.
Got a sandwich we need to know about? Send a photo and a few words about why it's the best thing since sliced bread to kpratt@tribune.com.
