What a find!

I has the ahi tuna and it rocks my world! I order this dish at almost every restaurant I go to, but the one at TOPA is beyond exceptional. Its corriander crusted and it comes on a bed of miso sesame coleslaw which complements the flavor of the ahi perfectly. Another wonderful thing about TOPA a is that they are always featuring specialty cocktails for the seasons. We tried a blueberry martini (made of fresh pureed blueberries!) which was divine. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. And I just wanted to mention that the owner was so accommodation and genuinely cared about making our experience special. Even though I live in the city, its right off of 290 so it is well worth the drive. I also have friends who live in that area and we will definitely make TOPA our spot in the burbs.

Jamee's TOPA review
By JameeS from Elk Grove Village, August 10, 2008

Topa has become my "GO-TO" place to dine. Business lunch, birthday's, anniversaries and just a lovely night out. The entire staff is friendly. The ambiance is nice. The back patio makes you feel like you are somewhere other than a suburban patio. Tony and Paul's wine dinners are some of the best I've ever attended. They are multi-course dinners with wine pairings and are an amazing value. Everything about Topa relaxes me and leaves me satisfied. Whether I choose to sit at the bar and order something casual or dine at a table, booth or outside, I never leave unhappy or unfulfilled. The restaurant has great consistency and my meat has never been cooked incorrectly. The Skatewing for a fish entree is so moist and non-fishy tasting, I was truly blown away! Desserts, wow- Creme Brulee, the Apple Crostada with vanilla ice=cream and their chocolate BOMB desserts people dream about. You won't leave disappointed, hungy or feeling that you overpaid. It's a great dining experience!

Queen for a day
By birthday gal from western illinois, July 22, 2008

My family and I celebrated my birthday at Topa this past weekend. We were greeted at the door by Tony and Paul with "we've been expecting you!" It was just the beginning of a truly exceptional night. Tony, our chef, helped us choose an array of delightful appetizers including a wonderful cheese plate that featured a tasty bleu from Point Reyes, California. Everything was beautifully presented and we gobbled them up and waited for our main courses to arrive. We sampled from the banana-toasted tilapia which was flakey and perfectly prepared to the sweet bistro steak with aromatic herb butter and basically everything inbetween! Silence descended upon us as we dug in and then we began offering up tastes all around the table. After a couple of birthday cosmos, dessert began to arrive. The flourless torte was divine as were all the other desserts we shared. Many Thanks to Tony and Paul and all the service and cooking staff for a memorable "double nickel" birthday for this gal. You made me "Queen for a Day." Topa is a real find, I heartily recommend it.

Once you dine at ToPa, you will never go anywhere else!!!

ToPa is a place where you feel like you are part of the family the minute you walk in! The food is amazing with entrees including everything from Mama's Giant Ravioli's to high quality steaks that are better than any steak I have ever had! Ever since I have been to ToPa, I haven't wanted to go to any other restaurant because the service and quality at ToPa cannot be beaten. Each and every seat in the restaurant feels like you are in the best seat in the house and everyone is treated as a special guest. ToPa, you rock!!!

Unexpected pleasure!
By Local gal from Addison, March 24, 2008

We started out going to another popular local restaurant because they had a sign out announcing immediate seating on a Saturday night. However, we went inside and they told us there was at least a 20 minute wait! We left and wandered east to find ToPa's. What a great choice! The food was out of this world and the atmosphere was surprisingly roomy and comfortable. The owners didn't try squeezing in so many tables that you were on top or each other. The New York strip steak was the best I've ever had but I would have preferred a smaller portion (14oz), a smaller potato (1 lb.) and add some vegetables on my plate. Still, I could not finish what I had! We were there with a client who has had steaks at the local charhouse and her comparison said ToPa's filet was by far better. Looking at the online site, the price range for dinners are considerably higher than $15! It's more like $15-$30 for dinners.

Luv the food and the atmosphere
By Susie from Chicago, February 27, 2008

I wasn't expecting to find such an extensive menu and comfortable yet "hip" atmosphere at Topa's which is in a shopping mall. But everything I have tried has been outstanding. I've been back several times. I love the rack of lamb, the meatloaf and the skatewing. The appetizers are so unique. And the pecan pie is wonderful.

Best Restaurant Around
By agallo from none, February 12, 2008

I have to say this is probably my favorite restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh and flavorful. They have a spectaular food and drink menu. I have always gone away from there feeling completely satisfied. You can tell by the taste and presentation of the food that whoever is running the kitchen cares about the quality of your meal. Also, there is such a nice range of wines and beers on that it is fun to experiment with different ones each time we go. Topa could rival any top restaurant downtown.
