This casual, family-owned Cuban restaurant specializes in hearty portions of the house specialty, paella Valencia, made with mild yellow rice and a mix of meats and seafood. House red snapper is also a highlight. The crowd is mostly folks from the neighborhood looking for some sweet sangria or a taste of the popular garlic-and-onion-filled Cuban nachos. Pull up a leopard-print chair (only a bit cheesy) and order up some classic south-of-the-border fare, such as fajitas and enchiladas, or just stop by the cabana-style bar for a minty mojito or mango margarita.

A bulk of the menu items are served with beans and rice and the side. You are supposed to mix your rice, beans, and entree all together. If you don...
