Owner Vicky Amira makes everything from scratch at this casual Puerto Rican and Cuban BYOB in the Belmont Cragin area-you can watch her toil over your meal in the open kitchen. Favorites include the tasty, magically greaseless empanadas. Amira claims she makes the best dough in town, and she stands behind her claim, regularly telling diners they don't have to pay if they don't like them. Try the Cuban-Rican sandwich on fried plantains or fresh baked bread with marinated pork, steak, ham, pickles and melted cheese, or the steak dish marinated in wine, bay leaves, garlic and sweet green peppers and cooked with Cuban spices, served with a side of Cuban rice. For Vicky, it's all in the sauce.
