Wonderful First Date or Celebration Dinner Place!
By Andromeda from Naperville, November 12, 2009

The White Chocolate Grill is a fabulous addition to the north side of Naperville. The 'team service' there (everyone in the restaurant waits on you: brings drink refills, delivers food/desserts) is awesome. This innovative style of serving makes for very attentive guest service and I love knowing that I can ask anyone for anything and they will handle it for me (instead of having to say "Will you find my server please?") The AZ Egg Rolls are dynamite and the Prime Rib is outstanding! I always order the Tomato Gin Soup (or the Squash Soup when they have it-seasonal I suppose). My server told me that there are only 3 White Chocolate Grills in the whole country! The others are in Arizona and Colorado... feels like I belong to a private club or something. We go for lunch or during the weekdays because the wait to sit can be up to an hour and a half on Friday and Saturday so we just go during the week or late on Friday or Saturday. I have to say that the service and food are still OUTSTANDING at 9pm when we've gone late in the evening. I hate how the service or food quality goes downhill at some places after the rush hours, White Chocolate Grill has always kept their great service even after closing time! (Ooops, stayed until 10:30 one time, chatting) I have noticed that most of the tables in this place are bolted to the floor. This would explain the troubles folks are posting about no reservations for more than 'x' amount of people at certain times... my common sense says that these rules are probably in place for guest safety/fire marshal rules so that exits and walkways are not blocked...just a thought. Also, when we go on a date, we sit there for atleast 2 hours drinking and dining all courses. It's a total experience!
I saw a wedding party come in one time! It was like 4pm and everyone was dressed up. They all sat in that top bar area and seemed to have a ball! The food is definately worthy of being served at a wedding, it's so much better than banquet food. Ever look through the glass into the kitchen? How cool right? I like sitting near the kitchen and watching the grill flame up and everyone bustling around like a well oiled machine. A treat to see for anyone that has served tables before. WCG has hired the best staff in my opinion. I have never had a 'weak' server there. Professionalism and confidence in making my visit a great time seems to be everyone's priority! I love it there, can you tell? I am shy so I haven't asked to meet the managers or the owners, I have only seen them from afar, but by judging them by the caliber of their staff, they are only interested in guest satisfaction no matter what it takes and as soon as I get guts to meet them, I'm sure they are sweet as pie.

My family and friends have dined at the WCG several times, and the food was great. Our waiter Kevin in bar area is simply outstanding/the BEST. This guy deserve an award for is outstanding service, we did contact the corp office of WCG to let them know how well Kevin is doing.

Not sure why another review said 'no reservations' we had one for 6 people. Food was good and served quickly. Especially liked the chocolate martini, couscous salad and white chocolate brownie dessert!

Great Restaurant; Strange Reservation Policy
By lisleump from Lisle, December 27, 2008

Overall rating:

We have been to this restaurant twice and have been impressed with the food, service and ambiance both times. Entree prices are between $14-23 and the food is worth that price. We have had fish dishes both times and they were as good if not better than anything in the area. Prime rib is excellent. There is always someone at your table clearing dishes or filling glasses. Very responsive service.

Now for the bad part. This restaurant has the weirdest reservation policy I have ever seen. They do not take reservations for parties greater than four in prime time. They only take 5 reservations per half hour....BUT you can call ahead and have your name put on the waiting list before you leave home....why don't they just take the reservation. Obviously with this policy you would be crazy to try to take a large group there on a Friday or Saturday night. I don't get it. If I was in the restaurant business I think I would want to have large groups not turn them away. This is the only reason I have rated the service as average otherwise it would be good or great. Overall, I think this is one of the best new restaurants in Naperville.

Not worth it
By Djoy from Chicago Burbs, August 27, 2008

Environment and layout was very nice, unfortunately i feel the White Chocolate Grill has greatly sacrificed taste for the sake of presentation. Our shrimp cocktail had a foul aftertaste, my burger was overcooked and my dates broccoli was undercooked. Overall experience was greatly below my expectations.

Great change of pace for the western burbs
By Food lover from Western suburbs, July 31, 2008

I have had lunch on a couple of occasions. The food & service are terrific. The trout was perfectly cooked. The Israeli couscous is a fabulous side dish. The Tomato Gin Soup is the best! The Wine List is very acceptable. Great place for a business lunch.

Very nice addition to the Western Burbs
By Tigerintheburbs from Wheaton, June 9, 2008

I have been to the restaurant three times since its opening in Naperville and have yet to find anything on the menu that failed to exceed my expectations. I spend a good deal of time eating out both in the City and in the Burbs and WCG is a welcomed addition close to home. Their call ahead system works well for the evenings and there is no wait at lunch. The steaks and ribs are wonderful, as is the tuna appetizer. The children's menu, although limited, it also quite pleasing to even my picky eater. If you are looking for a nice red, try the Mark West Pinot Noir. And for dessert, not much beats the apple pie. It is worth the five minute wait. My only complaint is the noise level makes hearing your diner companion challenging. Quick fix, if possible, sit next to one another, if only two, or go for lunch. Oh and be forewarned, there is not a separate lunch and dinner menu. Enjoy!!
