My wife and I go to Taste regularly and are big fans. We both have favorite dishes that we order often, but also branch out and try new dishes and are always impressed. Its got everything you can expect for the price point and more plus a byob bonus.

Treat is a unique find - for flavors and decor. Funky art and staff with a most creative and flavorful menu. We were thrilled and shocked to find this terrific menu in this odd location. Flavors have some subtle heat behind it all, with a grand touch of indian flavors stuck in, too. one offering from beef, pork, fish, lamb, vegan, chicked entrees and a wide selection of starters and sandwiches. check it out. you'll go often! GREAT coffee, too!

My boyfriend and I went on a Thursday night for "date night" and were very satisfied with the food, service and value! The two appetizers we ordered were very tasty; especially the scallops! For my entree, I had the chicken tikka masala which was delicious - I've had this dish at many restaurants and it was spot on at Treat; it had a lovely smoky flavor – I finished every last bite! Our waitress was very sweet and attentive throughout the meal. When we got the bill, we were both amazed that it was only $60 for 2 entrees, 2 apps and desert! We will be dining at Treat again very soon!

The food at Treat is average. The braised lamb shank is nothing special. Braising the lamb took out the gamy flavor of the lamb which is what I was looking for when I ordered it. The chickpeas from the dish had too much sauce and that ended up running onto everything else. The chicken tikka masala was pretty good although the chicken was a little over cooked. The sauce on the tikka masala was good. Supposedly the chef at Treat is from Bombay. The beet salad was tasty but too small for $6.95. It should have been enough for at least two people. The passion fruit creme brulee was good. Bill came out to $30 per person including tax and tip. Maybe try ordering the sandwiches instead of the entrees if you want better value.
The inside decor is pretty weird. We sat next to a cartoon picture of a mouse with a needle in its eye.
The service was excellent. They accommodated us even though our party came 30 minutes after our reservation. We brought 5 bottles of wine. I suggest brining a Syrah.

The food here was magnificent and byob made our check ridiculously cheap, but the wait staff needs a bit of improvement. I've come here four or five times and the waitresses have been somewhat ignoring or mildly rude...but food is wonderful! Go for that...

This is an amazing place! Whenever we visit the city, we eat at this restaurant because the food is unique, fresh, and tasty. Also, I think of it as gourmet food for a bargain in a cozy unpretentious atmosphere. The calamari and sauce are spectacular.
Report This ReviewI can't compliment this place enough. The staff is wonderful, and the food is great. The cod sandwich is one of the best sandwiches on the northwest side, and an insane bargain. It is great to see another restaurant with an eclectic menu, good prices, and dedication to providing a very pleasant dining experience. Highly reccomended.
Report This ReviewThe raves in the press got my curiosity and I tried Treat. The Indian dishes have a home made feel to them. The recent special of Baingan Bharta was like my mother's cooking and the paratha was so good too. The appetizers are great and though we didn't have room, we split the wonderful curry chocolate ganache with the star anise ice cream and left totally impressed when the bill was like 30 for 2 people. I don't think any other restaurant in the neighborhood can beat that.
Report This ReviewMet friends there who are fans and we became fans instantly. We each had appetizers (all were great). Then we waited a while to order entrees and staff was not rushing us even though they were busy. We tried everyone's entrees and the Gnocchi is best I have ever had. Steak and salmon are really really good and different. We tried all three desserts and they were all very good. I recommend this place, because of BYOB and good food for so cheap, you cannot go anywhere better.
