- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
A large communal table is the focal point of the dining room at this West Loop bistro, which is done up in a calming palette of earth tones with complementary slate tiling, mahogany furniture and a large hand-written chalkboard menu. Cool jazz, fresh flower arrangements and white tablecloths add to the ambiance. Though the menu changes seasonally, expect contemporary takes on American dishes. The menu starts with a selection of hot and cold shared plates before moving on to entrees such as stuffed rainbow trout, filet-cut grilled ribeye and herb-crusted rack of lamb. There are always a few vegetarian selections as well. Before you dine, stop by Perman Wine Selections next door, which works with the restaurant to provide appropriate pairings.
