The Grill on the Alley has been a downtown favorite of our for years. The quality of their steaks is the best secret on the Mag Mile! Save room for dessert, the strawberry shortcake will knock your socks off. It's also a great place for a power lunch when you've got important clients to impress.

I absolutely loved this place! I had tickets to a show and everyone made sure that I done in plenty of time to go across town and they never made me feel rushed! Everyone was so nice, the atmosphere was very comfortable, and the food was excellent! The wine list is quite large and not pretentious.

We thinks the the Grill has one of the best wine lists in the City! Try the Black Bart Syrah with a juicy Burger-we crave this! Also, we love the classic Chicago vibe. Highly recommend for great food, wine and staff

My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our birthday's and had an awful experience. The waitress ignored us, never asked how our food was. My steak was brought out without a steak knife and even after I asked her for one she never brought one, I had to ask a bussboy (who provided way better service then our waitress). After each of us had a glass of wine we tried to get a bottle, but she never stopped at our table. For the price you pay here, the service is awful and not worth yoru time or money.

Friday afternoon for an early dinner. Very poor service with complete lack of attention. Food for the money not a great value. Couple that with the extremely poor service makes it a place not to go again. There are too many other fine restaurants in Chicago to try.

I have been to The Grill in the Alley in Beverly Hills, and it was excellent, however The Gill in Chicago does not compare. For starters the service is not like the one in Beverly Hills. The wait staff is not as friendly as they are in Beverly Hills, which is a little surprising. Another thing that just felt different was the atmosphere, in Beverky Hills you just get that "Old Hollywood" vibe, but in Chicago it just doesnt feel right.

What I like about this restaurant is that the waiters never make you feel bad for ordering a hamburger in the main dining room. And my husband and I think that their hamburgers are the very best in the city, much better than the so-called best in the city at a nearby steak house.
