The School of Culinary Arts at Kendall College, which has a list of notable chef/owner graduates such as Shawn McClain (Green Zebra, Spring), Mindy Segal (Hot Chocolate), Michael Altenberg (Crust) and Michael Maddox (Le Titi de Paris), offers diners the opportunity to taste the classroom projects of chefs-in-training long before they become famous. The menus change quarterly; dinner offers a la carte choices and the lunch menu is prix-fixe (and a great value, priced at less than $20 for three courses). There's also a $29 three-course prix-fixe dinner option Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Feeling generous? A portion of any guest gratuities from the Dining Room are placed in a student scholarship fund.
