This is a great l;ittle place. Food was wexcellent and surprisingly, the wine selection was awesome. I know you're supposed to drink beer here (which I usually do) but on this visit I delved into the wines by the glass.
I was thoroughly impresse by their Zwiegelt Rose. Great glass of wine and surprisingly only 7 bucks a glass. They also had a great list of spakling wines. I had a great Michigan (yes Michigan) Sparklilng wine as well!
Will be back

We stumbled upon this place last week and discovered our new favorite hangout! They have an awesome selection of beers and wines and all of the food we tried was amazing. My favorite was the flank steak and the frites. My friend ordered one of the flatbreads that was really great too. I'm anxious to go back and try more of the menu.

This extremely poor clone has taken the worst traits of French bistros and managed to multiple them perfecting the art of rudeness to a tee. The food is plain with no flavor or flare but you may not notice if you dose yourself on their uneducated wine list and knock off 18 European beers. I recommend you attend the show and quietly chuckle to your self.

This is a great little place. Nice decor, understated and low-key. It isn't over the top and does not try too hard. Great wine list, vert well priced items. Something for every budget. Food was delicious! Simple itmes, well-flavored and seasoned. 'Clean' tasting and just plain yummy.

I met a guy here for a first date. We had a wonderful time. The service was great. The food was good....but, I don't recommend the olives (only b/c it's hard to fish out the pits and talk to your date). The scallops were amazing. Our server was very nice.....a good surprise b/c of the bad service reviews. The ambiance was terrific. Very romantic feeling, a great "date" place.

I ordered a variety of food at this amazing restaurant. sharing it with several friends. Everything we ordered was delicious - I was surprised that they hit it right with so many different dishes. The fiery chicken wings are full of flavor, without relying solely on heat; the mushroom flatbread was heavenly. The lamb sausage was excellent. Our bill was reasonable (given the couple of very pricey wine bottles we shared, the food part of our bill must have been downright cheap).
The only down note was a condescending, oh-so-pretentious waiter. But really, we ignored him most of the time and got down to enjoying the food and wine. It's a shame for service to have marred such an otherwise great restaurant - if it continues to suck & word gets around, the owners will have thrown away the great potential of this lovely place.

Wish this place could pull it together, has so much potential. I think management should consider the attitudes of their bar staff. If you're rude, disinterested in assisting patrons and obviously annoyed with any requests maybe you should re-consider your job choice! Try cracking a smile once. Not only were we dumbfounded by this guy's attitude but so were the groups to our right and left at the bar. Please make some major hiring changes soon before I write this place off completely!

The first time I went to BlueBird it was a nice experience. The wine selection is great, but a bit pricey for the pour. I like the ambiance it offers, which is quite warm, natural with brick and wood, but still hip and comfortable. I wanted to come back with work colleagues to entertain, as I thought it would be a good choice. The second time around I did exactly as I had planned entertaining 2 local friends on the West side and 2 out of towners from the East Coast DC area. We ordered 2 wines and 2 beers. Our server did not smile, did not seem to care to be working and a had an air about him that we were lucky to be there. No thank you. We experienced poor customer service with an attitude. We quickly left after one round with a $50 tab and no thank from our server. Chicago has such a fine selection of food and drinks BlueBird will not get a third chance from me or the individual who accompanied me. As a patron spending money I want to be treated with respect and I wanted to be thanked for coming.
