Amazing Food - Great View - Charming Staff

In the past year, I have eaten at Trotters, Le Francais and Seasons and have to say that Seasons gets my vote as the best of the three with Le Francais coming a close second. I went to Seasons with a party of 7 - we were seated at a round table with an excellent view of michigan avenue and the lake front. The service was impeccable without being stuffy (Trotters is so stuffy it makes me uncomfortable). We like to share food, and when they saw us passing our plates around, they kept bringing us extras of everything to taste (for free) We brought our own wine, which we shared with the waiters - they did not limit how much wine we were able to bring in (Trotters does). The food was absolutely wonderful. We had not eaten there in awhile and had forgotten what a great place it is to eat. It is a little pricey but for a special occaision you can not beat it.

Best dining experience ever...

My wife and I went here to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The staff at the Seasons simply exceeded any and all expectations that we could have had. The food was good, but it was definitately secondary to the service.

The staff was friendly, but unobtrusive. They really made us feel at home, and we welcomed their expert opinions on the menu. Later in the evening, one of the other patrons sent us a drink over because he thought I was Chris Rock (whom I look nothing like). The wait staff really had a good time with that, and had us laughing the rest of the night.

They brought us out a special dessert to commemorate our anniversary, and it was so ornate, that my wife wanted to take a picture of it. She pulled out the camera, only to realize that the battery was dead. Minutes later, one of the waiters appeared with a new disposable camera, and gave it to us as a gift. That was really something they didn't have to do, but was definitely appreciated.

When my wife asked if she could have the recipe for one of the desserts, the waiter went to the kitchen and came right back with the recipe. She then went and photocopied it for us, and gave us some additional samples of the dessert! We were floored and impressed!

Sorry for the long review, but I can't say enough about the staff at the Seasons. They are a great bunch of people, and we can't wait to go back.

Great place to hang out

This is one of the most beautiful bars in Chicago. The drinks are really good and its fun to sit by the fireplace in the lounge. During Christmastime when the tree and decorations are up its stunning and one of the best places to go. We went there this evening and the ice cream sundae we had at the bar was excellent. I also had a Honeydew cocktail which had sorbet in it...delicious.

The Sunday Brunch at the...
By Ingrid McKenzie from Chicago, IL, July 14, 2007

Overall rating:

The Sunday Brunch at the Four Seasons is very good, but keep in mind I think it's nearly impossible to have 4 Star quality foods in a buffet setting. But, as far as buffet breakfasts go, this is one of the best in the city. My husband and I hosted our post-wedding breakfast for out of town guests here because of its versatility. From the traditional eggs and waffle stations to the Asian and Mediterranean offerings, this brunch appeals to wide variety of tastes and preferences. If you're not a breakfast fan there are lots of savory options including salmon, lamb, seafood, and sushi. A few disappointments during my last visit - several items were note replenished in a timely fashion. I would read a delicious sounding food item on a display card only to open the serving dish to find it completely empty. Better communication between the staff and kitchen needed at times.

Possibly the best dining experience we have had in Chicago. Not self impressed like Trotter's or True. Better than Le Nomade or Ambria. Much better than Everest. A close call between this and Pluton and Seasons was more reasonalbly priced. Excellent food, a beautiful dining room. Superior staff. We will return.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at season's yeasterday. We had a chilled cucumber soup and several of their specialty salads. For dessert we tried their sumptuous chocolate mousse. Service was attentive without being presumptuous and the atmosphere was perfect and elegant. Will return soon for dinner!

Great work Chef Robert! My wife and I spent her 35th there and we loved it! We started with the gnocchi with 100 year old balsamic vinaigrette, outstanding, especially with a big red wine. She had venison and I had the kobe beef, both were fantastic. The wine list is moderatlly priced which was no surprise. The service was ok, our server seemed like he was running around and unorganized. We will be back!
