Sage Grille: User Reviews
We went there for the first time on Saturday night at 5:30. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. Food was very good although the appetizers were overpriced and entree portions were not large though for me entirely adequate. Big eaters might not be satisfied. My dish included 2 cuts of pork and it was delicious. Desserts are mini size and about half the price of a regular dessert, so you could have more than one. My companion and I usually share a dessert, so this was a nice touch because we could both have what we wanted. Wine by the glass selection was rather small and didn't include anything of unusual interest. The bread was quite poor. I can't understand why a restaurant at this pricepoint would risk a bad impression with such mundane rolls.
The restaurant is attractive, but when it got full the noise level was annoyingly high. Also, on Saturday they do have music in the bar. Though not loud in the dining room, it added to the otherwise high ambient decibels.

A wonderful evening out with friends, great food, wonderful presentation, good service, and can't wait to go back.

We had a party for about 50 people at this restaurant and while we loved the ambiance, we were all very disappointed in the quality and preparation of the food. Most dishes were not as described and the portion size was quite small--and we were not big eaters. The service was good, but no one in our group would care to return.

I so wanted to enjoy myself at this restaurant. Unfortunately, everything was a disappointment (food, service, value). Surprisingly the food quality and preparation was poor (too much inedible fat on the meats, overseasoned sides) and the flavor profiles didn't compliment one another. Avoid the cookies and ice cream dessert. The cookies were so hard you could not bite into them and the ice cream was bland.

We were headed to another restaurant, but it was closed, so we went to Sage Grille without knowing anything about it. We had a wonderful meal of fish and our friends had a wonderful meal as well. The wait staff was pleasant and friendly and the host came over to speak with us. We had a really nice experience and felt we got a good value and delicious meals for the money we paid. Many restaurants along Green Bay in Highwood are overpriced and not particularly good. We feel lucky to have found Sage Grille and will certainly come back again.

We've been here several times. This last time was the best yet. The scallops were very good, but the chicken and goat cheese ravioli was excellent. Our server was very attentive. This is probably our favorite restaurant in Highwood!
Report This ReviewOur waiter was very rude. The Cesear salad was wilted and served very warm. The scallops & beef wellington was surprisingly good considering a very poor start. We always order dessert, but service was so bad we didn't stick around. Also, our waiter tried to charge us for an extra bottle of water we never ordered. Will never go back.
Report This ReviewOur dining experience could not have been better! We loved the inviting fireplace, the warm ambiance, the excellent service and the delicious food. I had the beef wellington and it was excellent. Be sure to try a dessert--everyone in our party tried a different one and each one received rave reviews!
Report This ReviewI ve been to Sage Grille on many occassions and found every experience to be incredible, everything was fantastic. Sounds like jackson was at the wrong restaurant. The food was spectacular; the service was outstanding; and the space is wonderful. I couldn't imagine anyone not enjoying themselves. I highly recomend Sage Grille to everyone.
Report This ReviewAWFUL - If you could choose to go to SAGE GRILL, or ANYWHERE else, chose ANYWHERE else.
The ONLY nice thing/s about this place are;
1) The decor is great.
2) Hostesses were very nice and accomodating
Beyond that;
1) Food SUCKS - I mean really bad, none of the dishes we ordered were decent.
2) Service is AWFUL - Waiter avoided our table while it was taking an HOUR to bring out our food. After it arrived cold, we had to tackle a different waiter to bring the food back to the kitchen. *Food was microwaved to warm which apparently sucked out any/all flavor.
3) Price - Ridiculous - average entree over $30 and the food really was not good.
Honestly, we eat out 3-4 times a week and this place is subpar. If you read this review, and you still go to this place you've been warned!
