First bite: Otom

Just because this Warehouse District spot is billed as the sibling to Moto, don't expect much in the way of the high-tech haute cuisine that Moto chef Homaro Cantu made famous. The chef here is Thomas Elliott Bowman, and the food is much more affordable, with entrees topping out at about $20 and bar fare priced even less. The vibe is also considerably more laid back. Still, the spins on comfort food, which might include a pork chop with bacon bread pudding or chicken and waffles (made with a chicken breast and a purple yam waffle), are intriguing.
