No, this bistro is not affiliated with Michael Jordan, and there is not a Mj1. In fact, the name Mj2 (Mj squared) actually comes from the initials of chef-owner Mike Kurotobi and his family (Mike, Michael, Jennifer and Janice). This warm-hued woody aims to be a casual family-friendly suburban destination spot. Kurotobi, a Japanese-born Peruvian, has created a globally-inflected contemporary menu which not only reflects his diverse background, but also spans other continents. Specialties include wok-seared tiger shrimp, flat iron steak frites, Creole pasta, chili-rubbed grilled chicken, potato-wrapped salmon and sugar cane grilled tuna. The global wine list offers about 30 choices by the bottle or glass, and there also is a signature martini list.
