Kitsch'n River North
- Neighborhood: River North
- 600 W. Chicago Ave.
- Chicago, IL 60610
- 312-644-1500
- Price range: $$ ($9-$15)
Though Kitsch'n River North is slightly larger than the original Roscoe Village location, complete with a couch-filled lobby and a large outdoor patio, the decor is similar, sporting kitschy furniture, shag carpet, and quirky '70s accents. The menu features comfort food such as fried chicken and waffles, green eggs and ham, and a popular weekend "hangover brunch" (it's so popular, in fact, that it takes over the owner's adjacent restaurant, The Fifth, to expand seating). Cocktails are fun and irreverent; the Tang martini is a favorite. A gourmet coffee bar area stocked with grab-and-go pastries caters to on-the-run commuters during the week.
