I haven't seen that kind of coctailing in a long time. The crowd is a little older. I think this is where they go when they aren't at Gibson's. Just okay. Not crazy about the ambiance.

Had 6PM reservations for me, my girlfriend, and her parents. Our server, Laura, was the best server we've ever had and made the dining experience that much better. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and Laura was attentive but knew when to leave. Very personable and didn't push the sides or deserts. All in all, definitely recommend Keefer's for a great steak dinner and dining experience.

Very ordinary. Portions small, prices high, no ambiance. Will not return.

I took my ex-girlfriend here a few years ago and we raved over the lamb.I felt a little undressed when I went, I didn't expect it to be such a dress casual environment. The server was great and attentive, and comforted me on my feeling of being under-dressed. I would go here again

My wife and I went here for our anniversery after it was decribed as one of the top steakhouses in America by Playboy Mag. This place is not even close to the best in Chicago, overpriced and way overrated. Gibsons, Mortons, even WILDFIRE blow this place completely out of the water. Dont even waste your time and money.

We just returned from a very disappointing evening at Keefer's. We have eaten there in the past and are also familiar with John Hogan's efforts at his prior restaurant. Tonight was a total let down.
Briefly, we ordered a Delmonico steak medium rare and it came raw. They took it back and recooked the same piece of meat -- it returned overly charred unevenly cooked and unappetizing --- it was a real mess. It looked like a dog's breakfast. They quickly brought a 'fresh' piece, this time one laden with chunks of unappetizing fat and gristle. Hardly worthy of a Delomico cut at $39 a pop. The waiter did his best but the manager was argumentative and defensive -- saying "I don't want you to have a bad life" -- yuck. It was a bad steak, pal, my life is fine.
While we've liked Keefer's in the past, there is no reason to return given the multitude of really great steak options in town. Give this one a pass.

Brought my parents in here for drinks when they were in town. The bar staff treated us as if we were lucky that they were serving us. The "free" appetizers are barely around at all, and the owner of this place was SO rude to my father. With so many awesome restaurants in Chicago, why even bother wasting your time with this dump?

I brought my boyfriend to Keefer’s for his birthday. The staff is friendly, we were late and they sat us right away. The restaurant’s style is contemporary and love the big windows. So I had the rib eye & my boyfriend had the filet mignon, the steaks were ok nothing special.
