This small Boystown BYOB is the kind of spot you wish every neighborhood had. Chef Joncarl Lachman's contemporary American menu is comforting, seasonal and fairly inexpensive, but always a bit of a surprise. Take, for instance, the lamb burger: It's served with melted brie and presented on a thick pretzel roll with a side of truffle oil fries. Even an arugula salad goes the extra mile with house-pickled beets to add a bit of zing. For dessert, try the cupcake flight, a trio of flavor selections that might feature anything from chocolate-chili to orange-fennel vanilla, a recent fave. The small room goes for simple and rustic, but an upbeat soundtrack and lots of energy make it a good date spot or a place to meet up with old friends.
