Pizza Ruined by Stupidity

I recently ordered a pizza for carry out. Upon pick up, the hostess proceeded to turn the pizza box vertically causing the pizza to fold over on itself creating a giant mess of cheese, sauce, and assorted toppings. I thought that said hostess would have a basic level of understanding of the laws of physics and gravity, but I was proven wrong. To compound the issue, the previous time I ordered carry out from Frasca, my Wrightwood chicken salad was missing a key ingredient: chicken. With such a wealth of restaurants in the neighborhood that don't fail to put chicken in chicken salad or serve pizza that resembles regurgitated dog food I will take my business elsewhere.

Great value for great food

The food is consistently very good to great. Their brie and apple with honey bruschetta is top notch. Their specials (half of wine...and their buy one pizza get one free) are amoung the best I've found. If you aren't in the mood for pizza, go with the gnocchi (and probably an espresso after eating all those carbs!)

Made a reservation but they had my name wrong and at the wrong time, so essentially we had no reservation on a Saturday night. There was room at the bar and we started with wine there. The bartender was helpful. The wait for a table wasn't too bad (long enough for 3 girls to drink the majority of a bottle of wine). They were short staffed and she was also our waitress. Carpaccio was delicious. Bread brought to the table is hot and good. And each of us thought our entrees were really good. Would definitely recommend this place, but if you make a reservation make sure you repeat your name and the time you're coming.

My boyfriend and I have been to Frasca many times and have never been disappointed. Service is consistently good. The bartender always makes a great recommendation on wine and is very attentive. The pizza is terrific (just don't expect Chicago Deep Dish). Try the meat and cheese platter - large number of options and excellent quality.

Neighborhood Gem

Frasca has great specials during the week and their new weekend brunch is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly, the atmosphere is great and the food is wonderful. We go about once a week and have never been disappointed. I'm so happy the have Frasca in the neighborhood.

Bad pizza

This is not the best pizza in Chicago. It was mostly crust...very little cheese. And the arugula on it was drenched in salad dressing. We wanted to try this place, we did, we were disappointed, and we won't go back. Besides, it is very noisy.

Not worth the time

My girlfriend and I decided to stop by this place for dinner on a Tuesday night on a whim. Never again! We experience what may be the worst service either of us has ever come across. After being seated and having a drink order taken, it took more than 15 minutes for our 2 glasses of wine. It was half an hour after that that our meals arrived. Not once during our lengthy wait did our waitress stop by to explain what was going on or to check in on us. The kitchen being slow was not her fault, but her lack of concern clearly was! After our meal was served, we never saw our waitress again until the bill came. And after it did, we waited almost 10 minutes before giving up and going up to the hostess stand to pay our bill. The food was not bad, but given the kind of service we experience, I would say there is absolutely no good reason to ever go there again. There are hundreds of Italian restaurants with food just as good and service, much, much better.

I can not say enough about this place. Everyone does a wonderful job. We have never had a bad meal. We even go with our baby and they make us feel warm and welcome. Great wines, Great food - it is worth going there.

I'm surprised

My husband and I have dined frequently at Frasca since they have opened near us. Every experience has been wonderful- the food is great and the service good. Tonight, however, was horrible. We waited about 10 minutes before being seated, which was fantastic. We each ordered a glass of wine at the bar. We were seated an ordered an appetizer, 5 glasses of wine between the two of us and dinner. After we finished eating, and still had 1/2 glass of wine each, we were asked to leave our table. I've never been asked to leave before... they hurried us in signing our bill and we attempted to finish our drinks at the bar. For this, I will not return and not recommendethis place- it would have been nice if they had a time limit (we are pretty fast eaters too)- I would have never ordered all of those drinks and nice dinners if I knew I was going to be rushed out of there. Too bad, the food is great, but there are many other places with great food where we have dropped a decent amount of money, that don't ask you to leave.

I recently went here for a friends birthday. I loved it! Our service was very good! The price was reasonable! I really enjoyed the brick oven pizza! Great wine selection as well!
