I was extremely disappointed in this place. My friend, her baby and myself show up to the almost completely empty restaurant and try taking a four seater table, the waitress asked if it was just us 3, mind you there are no smaller tables, we say we are waiting for a 4th but the baby can sit next to the mother on the booth side of the table and were told that we cannot be seated until our full party arrives. I understand this if the place was busy or if we required an extremely large table or if we didn't have a baby in a car seat standing in the middle of the place. The waitress was like sorry but we fill up fast and you can sit on the bar stools till your party arrives. The counter where the stools are 2 other employees were just standing there giving us strange looks like we were annoying them. We decided to leave and wait outside for our friend who showed up minutes later and not another person walked in the to empty place, very disappointed in the pretentious air of the place and will never go there again.

As the title reads a place that leaves you feeling do they deserve a tip. The food is average and the service poor. A place that leaves you laughing that they have the arrogance to have a book on display about tipping. It makes you wonder if they ever read the book on service. It amazes me there still open.

It's really unfortunate that a place with such good food has a waiter there that could ruin anyone's breakfast. He treated us like we were "bothering" him and snapped at the toddler we had with us, which is really pathetic. If you're looking for breakfast with a bad attitude, this would be your kind of place. I'll never go back.

This eatery ROCKS!! The food was terrific! Everything was fresh, colorful and flavorful. Don't be bummed by the decor; it's simple and down-to-earth - it's not a sparklie ZSA ZSA "look at me" kind of place. It's a great place for vegatarians, vegans, and meatlovers. Everything from pancakes, steaks, tofu & kale. Prices were very reasonable - good portions too! I will definitely return. It's my new Fav! Kiss the cook!!

I have lived just down the road from the Flying Saucer and I can honestly say thank god it's in this hood.
Granted some of the people walking outside the place are sorta shady... once you are inside you it's a whole new ball game.
The Australian owner and company is great. I would recommend the Breakfast Sampler or the Trucker's Bowl. Both insta-great meals.
Your coffee is always full and hot....
No complaints. 5 stars. *****

This is the best breakfast place in the city. No lines, no annoying people coming in from Lincoln Park, and the food is absolutely great. Try the coconut pancakes if they have them on special.
Report This ReviewPlease oh please bring back the dancing dinner hours. This was my favorite spot to go for dinner in the city. amazing tofu dishes, great soups, coffee, music. We loved the staff. Please oh please.
Report This ReviewThis is a great neighborhood spot. Never had a prob w/ the service and the food is always good. They did change the hours tho...now open 7 days a week but only until 3pm so maybe call ahead.
Report This ReviewMy ex-neighborhood brunch spot. After giving them plenty of chances to get it right, the terrible service, lack of seasoning, and the hoard of hungover hipsters drove me away.
