This nonprofit eatery is located in Ravenswood's Lillstreet Art Center. The quick-serve cafe features a frequently changing menu of soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The chef-director is Mary Ellen Diaz, formerly of Printer's Row and North Pond. Although the food is reasonably priced and low-key, Diaz still gives it her three-star touch (like using organic ingredients). Proceeds from the cafe benefit First Slice, a community-supported kitchen whose mission is to provide restaurant-quality food to the needy.
