Egglectic Cafe
- 221 Town Square
- Wheaton, IL 60187
- 630-260-9001
- Price range: $ (Under $9)
This Wheaton breakfast and lunch favorite opened this second Wheaton location in late June 2007; interestingly enough, it's actually in the former digs of competitor Egg Harbor Cafe. The decor is distinctly country, including a to-the-ceiling barn structure greeting you at the main entrance. With seating for 150, this Egglectic outpost offers the same menu as its downtown Wheaton sibling. Fritatta skillet dishes like the Blue Bayou (eggs, bleu cheese, spinach, bacon and tomatoes) are big favorites, as are the specialty French toast dishes, like pecan-roll and banana-bread French toast. The lunch crowd orders the pecan Dijon salad, wrap sandwiches and melts.

Go for the pumpkin pancakes. They are delicious. It is a busy little place, but the food is worth the wait.
