Deleece: User Reviews
You have got to go to Delecce. I feel like it's an often overlooked or forgotten gem in this city. I have been to Deleece 3 or 4 times and have never been disapointed. The ambiance is very cozy... exposed brick walls and dim lighting... it's a nice place to go for a romantic meal or a great girls night destination. They have a decent wine list, though a bottle of wine I often buy at Binny's for $15 was $34 here... so stick witih the less expensive wines. The staff is all friendly and helpful. They are on the ball as far as refilling water and checking in on your meal, but I've never felt rushed out the door, even when the restuarant is crowded. And the food. Oh, the yummy food! I've been here for brunch and for dinner. I've had lamb chops which was wonderful. And most recently I ordered the caramelized chilean salmon- I think it changed my life. It was FANTIASTIC! It's such a popular dish that they never rotate it off the menu. And I can see why! And as for dessert, I've had their warm apple crisp wiith ice cream twice and I promise it melts in your mouth. You owe it to yourself to visit Deleece- you'll fall in love like I did!

We had Brunch there today and we were all very satisfied customers when we left. The only thing that wasn't quite up to par was the plate of Ben-Yays. I've had them in other restaurants in the City (an in New Orleans), but the ones we had today almost tasted under-fried - or something.
Otherwise, the waitress was pleasant and came back often for refills, etc.

This restaurant is really, really good. It's a great place for a date or a nice, low key spot to take Mom and Dad when they are in town. It is a little pricey but the food is fabulous and definately worth the money. It's fresh and falvorful and you can tell that they take care with each dish that comes out of the kitchen. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!

I came here for my birthday and it was delightful! The braised short rib was not so good, but the other 6 dishes we had we Amazing! This is a nice first date place.

This place is amazing. The food is great and the staff is top notch. I had scheduled a cast party here for Friday night and the experience was so good that I came back for dinner on Sunday. They truly understand what good service is all about and every bit of food has been delicious. If you have not been there, GO! (try the cherry cake, too!)

Deleece is without question my favorite neighborhood spot in the city, and I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be for a tasty, casual, eclectic brunch. I make my own bloodies, and can't hold a candle to their mix. Going on from there, it's always painful to actually decide on the meal because I have to bypass all the other dishes. I'm particularly fond of the eggs benedict and french toast (that, and the friendly, not-too-bothersome, hovering servers you see in some restaurants). Hats off to the owners, chef and wait-staff... they please the palate and the wallet every single time.

After reading the good reviews on Metromix, we were convinced that Deleece would be a good option for brunch on Sunday morning - but we were wrong. The hostess was disinterested; the bloody marys were the worst I've tasted; our waitress was lousy; and the food was mediocre at best. All of this in a dining room that was less than half full and the restaurant seemed to have enough staff on hand to do a decent job. Needless to say, we won't be back.

We used to live a few blocks away from Deleece and it was our favorite dinner destination in the neighborhood. And while we don't live quite as close these days, we still head back for the friendly service and the outstanding lamb chops. Places like Deleece make Chicago the great restaurant city that it is.

I went to Deleece on Saturday night with my girlfriends and we were all very impressed! The pork chop was very tender and the mashed sweet potatoes were amazing. My friend who had the Ahi tuna said she could literally eat another plate of the meal. The restaurant even participated in Earth hour by turning off the lights for an hour having each table eat by candlelight.

I just wish that this place could always be a best kept secret and just sustain enough business to keep the doors open so it will NEVER change!
Look, If you live across town I hope you have an establishment this exquisite in your neighborhood. If you live in mine, and you want to walk around the corner to a cozy little place where the service is casual and very friendly and the food is straight up 5 star, check out Deleece. Just make sure there's a table for me!
