Had great lunch on Saturday. Great choices for vegeterians.....super veggie burger, excellent caesar salad. Also good fish choices. Fun to watch the world go by on Michigan Ave. We enjoyed our visit.

I don't know what these other reveiwers are taking about with service. Our service was awesome, there were so many wait staff people you couldn't not get what you needed. This was my first time there, had the Macho Chicken Salad, excellent. The decor is dark wood and soft lighting with live jazz. It was so nice to step off busy MI ave into this space of tranquility. For a Monday it was busy and I will agree that my check was brought with my dessert, not cool for that level of dining, but they needed the table and we were finished. Menu is limited but has alot of variety. I recommend it.

Always a good bet. Love the Ahi Tuna Salad and cosmos.
Ask for Matt as your waiter!

Bandera has a very limited menu with a few decent items. The service is terrible and makes the experience not worth the money. For the price of the meals, they should not rush you away from the table quicker than they seat you. They do not honor reservations and make you wait 30-45 minutes even with a reservation. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Couldn't of asked for a better experience. Pork chops and enchilada platter are to die for. Bartender and waiter were some of the best in the city, honest! Great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Not so easy to find, I think (hope) this place is a great get-away from the crowd on weekends. Located on the second floor of a strangely placed elevator, the food and service is outstanding. I'm in love with the prime rib sandwich. Cooked to perfection with a great au juice. Appetizers tend to be on the spicy side but even those who hate the "hot" will probably still love the warm cornbread--with all the sweek kernels off the cob. Other than foods that were too spicy (and I didn't ask if they could make them mild) everything I've had was delicious. Very busy at lunch on weekdays. Get there before noon for a table or booth. Otherwise, at best, you're at the bar.

This is my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I love to have the corn bread, burger, or roasted chicken. Anything I've ever had at this restaurant was a winner.

The Metromix description caught my attention, and so I ordered the highly-praised rotisserie chicken, only to be VERY disappointed! The chicken was very dry and not very flavorful. The accompanying rice, however was overpowered with spice and heat. I like spicy, but this took over my mouth! My companion ordered the pork chops, which themselves were quite good, very generous portions. The accompanying sides however, were not very good. The stuffing was bland and dry, and the red cabbage horriibly undercooked. All in all - we were not pleased with our meal, nor the prices that we had to pay.
Finally, is it just me, or is anyone else bugged by waiters who ask you your drink order before you even have had a chance to talk off your coat and sit down? And then, when you ask for more time, they come back 10 minutes later. Very frustrating.
