a terrible kitchen that would deserve a visit from a ruthless guy like BBCA's Ramsey! the ambiance, when seen from outside, looks more "upscale" though once you get in, you are heavily hit by the smell of a "regular" chinese takeaway.

the soup (won ton) is simply a bowl of water (no flavor AT ALL) while their duck is a burnt skin with no meat to be rescued... the Kung Pao chicken "drowns" in a horrible "pre-fab" sauce and the chicken fried rice is worse than a frozen version...

when complaining about the quality of the food, the waitress (who also functions as hostess) smiled as if not understanding English and moved away with the dishes.

please do yourselves a favor and do NOT visit this place. you would have wasted money and enthusiasm for what needs to be a good chinese cuisine...

I love this place! I have tried lots of places but Venus is one of the ones I just keep going back to. The service is excellent! Everything I have ever had here is delicious! My favorites are the pot stickers, the szechuan beef, and the moo shu pork. The egg rolls and their noodle dishes are worth trying too. Try this restaurant!!

Venus has a great service, a nice atmosphere, but is missing a key ingredient for a good restaurant, flavor. As having read many good reviews on Mentromix I decided to give it a try. It is a very lively atmosphere for Park Ridge, and the staff is very attentive and nice. The dish that I ordered (orange chicken) was served with more of a peanut sauce, and it seemed like it was drenched in so much sauce that the coating was falling off. I was glad I tried this place, but will go to my usual place, Lams on Oakton.

I live in the Old Town area of Chicago- but pick up my Chinese food at Venus- enough said! It is so much betgter than what I can get downtown.

What a find! This place has the best food for the least amount of money in the area...and in a beautiful setting...white tablecloths and all

The food is delicious, especially the sesame crispy chicken and the atmosphere is lovely. A great place from which to order carry out or at which to dine.
