Overall I think that this is a solid dinner choice. I've tried both the sushi and the Chinese food entrees, and I think that the Chinese options provide a much better value. They're really large portions so I would recommend sharing. Sushi is a bit pricey and nothing too special. I'll admit this isn't my favorite spot in the area, but it's usually easy to get a table, staff is nice, and food is satisfying. If it weren't so expensive I would go more often.

Overall I was very happy with my choice to go to PapaJin's. The food was good, the ambiance was fitting, and the value was there. The portions were large, next time I will share one. The best part of the night was my dates beautiful eyes.

The food is bland and under-cooked. We have tried take-out on past occasions and have dealt with very rude staff who don't seem to care about the customer's satisfaction. For instance, they only will give you two small packets of soy sauce in an order unless you pay for more. This just goes to show how stingy they are. The people there don't care about their reputation or quality of food. They obviously just care about making a buck. I will never eat here again.

I've been there many many times, very nice food, great prices and the sushi is absolutely amazing. Sometimes the service might be a little bit slow but we never had any huge problems such as waiters being rude etc.. A lot of people say that their delivery sucks, well, then do not order! It's a really nice restaurant, not your average full of msg chinese corner joint. The owner is pretty nice and both chinese and japanese dishes they have are great. I say definitely try it, papajin is a great place to go for asian food. It's like an oasis among all the overpriced and pretentious yupster/hipster bar/grills in the area. In papajin you wont find any art school drop out self absorbed losers, at least that is guaranteed.

We've been coming to Papajin for several years, and have never experienced the bad service that some of these other reviewers are writing about. The food has always been consistent, and our orders have never been wrong. They don't rush you which is nice, and the prices are pretty low considering how much food you actually get. We almost always have leftovers. The Sesame Crispy Plate is one of my faves and no one else in the city has a sesame dish like this.

you know, the food here is really not that bad. they have lots of options, and say they don't use MSG. i usually order for delivery, and every single time i ask if they can remove a simple ingredient, they say, "we're really busy here tonight." tonight when i ordered, i got, "we're really busy here tonight, and (the cooks) will probably make a mistake anyway." the man who took my order tonight was the same man who's been taking my order for years, so clearly not some random kid who doesn't care about customer service. in this day and age when people have so many food allergies, that careless attitude is not what you want to hear... especially when you're shelling out about $10/dish for standard chinese food that you could get at any chinese restaurant. i'd rather go someplace that is willing to accomodate its customers (the people who keep them in business), and isn't going to set me up for disappointment by telling me they will most likely make a mistake anyway.

My boyfriend and I have been ordering from here for years. They have never screwed up our order once and I couldn't count all the deliveries we've had. Food has always come promptly even on busy weekends. Fresh sushi, great fried rice!

We had long ago sworn off dining in there due to truly, the WORST service ever, but continued to order for delivery. However, after the addition of the sushi bar the quality of their once fantastic Chinese food has dwindled and they have absolutely no respect for their customers.
On what will be the last time we ever order from this restaurant, they royally screwed up our order, and by this I mean, after 2 and a half hours it still hadn't shown up, and in the interim (1 1/2 hours) we were lied to by the staff.
Bottom line, diminished quality and inflated prices have made it not worth the aggravation in dealing with them.
I would sooner walk down to the corner store, naked, in 0 degree weather to buy a can of Chung King Chop Suey and eat it cold than ever give them another dollar of my business.

Easily the best Chinese I've had in the city of Chicago. Elegant, laid back restaurant with great service. On a scale of 5 stars, I give 6!

This restaurant was terrible. I ordered the potstickers and they were soggy and the dough was thick and gooey. Then the owner had the nerve to argue with me, telling me that I didnt know what I was talking about. The dumpling filling had olives in it- not a japanese food. Also, the fish on the sushi was NOT fresh... it was hard and stale tasting. I am not a picky eater, but this place was absolutely disgusting.
