P.F. Chang's China Bistro

1819 Lake Cook Rd.

Northbrook, IL 60062

You'll know you've reached P.F. Chang's when you see the 10-foot-high horse sculpture outside, an oversized plaster replica of a Chinese statue dating back to the 11th century B.C. The restaurant, like the sculpture, operates on a grand scale. It strives to combine Chinese food with American-style portions and service in a spacious, window-lined dining room that seats 190 inside and an additional 40 on the patio in warm weather. Bartenders at the large, semicircular bar adorned with a 40-foot mural are eager to serve--mai tais, martinis, Asian and domestic beers. The menu features items from the Chinese provinces of Szechwan, Hunan, Mongolia, Shanghai and Canton. Part of a national chain, P.F. Chang's has garnered a loyal following for its spicy chicken and beef entrees, soothing lettuce wrap appetizer and sautéed spicy eggplant.
