In early 2008, chef-partner Carlo Vizconde (former Kamehachi head chef) and chef Melvin Vizconde--twin brothers--teamed up with partners Michelle Ly, Tony Taing and Huy Nguyen to reopen Lincoln Park BYOB Kyoto after several months of renovations. The result: a new sushi bar, new furniture and a cozy red color scheme. The expected maki, nigiri and sashimi selections fill the menu, and there's also a rotating specials list. Japanese entrees such as steak and chicken teriyaki, as well as several soba and udon noodle dishes, are good options for sushi-phobes. Regulars often make special maki requests, and the twin chefs are happy to comply.
