Over the years, customers have scrawled graffiti all over the tables, walls and chairs here. Some just write their names while others have composed poems or left song lyrics. Gargoyles frame stained-glass windows above the Medici's doors, which are painted with bright colors. An outdoor patio (upstairs) is popular in warm weather. House favorites include strawberry-banana and fudge-banana-nut milkshakes, the Hamburger Medici (a half-pound burger served on a Medici potato bun), a grilled tuna steak sandwich topped with ginger-sesame mayonnaise, and garbage pizza, which includes sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, green peppers, onions and Canadian bacon. Make sure to bring your own wine. The Medici Bakery, which is just east of the restaurant, boasts an array of fresh artisan breads, croissants, rolls, pies and cakes.
