This fast-casual spot with sister locations in the South Loop and Lincoln Park specializes in healthful takes on fast-food standards such as burgers and fries. Low-fat cheese is used in most items, and baking, grilling and steaming—not frying—are the preferred preparation methods. Look for smoothies made with fat-free yogurt and whole fruit and berries, burgers grilled and served on a whole-wheat bun or whole-grain tortilla and oven-baked "fries." Salads and brown rice bowls with various toppings are available too. If you happen to fall off the healthful eating wagon, The Grill also has a not-so-good-for-you lineup of local favorites, including Maxwell Street Polish sausages, Chicago-style dogs, Reubens and corned beef sandwiches.
