This place has one of the best hot dogs, and is well worth the trip out there. - Peter Morano

The food here is great, you just have to be prepared to spend a little more.
My only issue is if you go on a Saturday or Sunday (especially when it's warm) there's a parking nazi blocking the entrance and won't let you park there if you're planning to eat outside. I just think it's very rude to make a customer find street parking and walk when there are plenty of parking spots in the lot.

One of the few great landmarks on the Northwest Side.

I have two words "no ketchup". They laugh at you when you request ketchup. In fact I felt like a moron. I consider myself to be a hot dog lover, but I hate mustard. I have for my whole life. When I asked to please hold the mustard and apply ketchup instead, they laughed at me. Don't get me wrong, I love a little humor and love laughing at myself, but I felt a little left out after my experience here. The dog itself was mediocre at best. It tasted more fatty than anything else. The service was ok. The place is worth at least a trip, but far from making my hot dog restaurant rotation.

If this drive-in wasn't so "cute" it would just be any other hot dog stand....except twice as expensive. You may want to go for the experience, but you'll get better hot dogs elsewhere.

The food is good, but definitely not in the league of the greats like Jimmy's, Gene & Judes, o r those little hot dog stands in Bridgeport.
It is extremely expensive for a hot dog place and they do not even use Vienna Beef. Way, way overrated by suburbanites who grew up, moved out, and think a pair of giant plastic hotdogs mounted on a rooftop means good food.
Go to the neighborhood (Norwood Park) and just ask the first local you see... I guarantee that 90% will tell you the same thing. Locals avoid this place like the plague.

i was raised in Chicago, at one time this was THE place. NO LONGER! it is an experience for those that haven't a true drive in. that said, now on to the dog, they have lost it. the peppers were tp large, therefore grainy, hard, and generally uneffective. the tomatoe, tho green, was like concrete and tasteless. the pickle was of poor quality (specially in comparison to past). generally it just stuck me now as an old place, living on it past glory, and the owner no longer gives a damn.

This is a true classic! Food is great....A little pricey but worth it.
Report This ReviewUtter disappointment! Mediocre hot dog, a bun that melts in your hand - not in your mouth and the worst french fries I have ever had. I would never go back.
Report This ReviewThis is the most over-rated hotdog stand in history. Every local knows that this place is an over priced rip off. Trust locals and go down the street to any other place.
