I like that I can go here with my vegetarian friends. I can get a great burger and shake while they aren't demoted to eating food fit for a rabbit. It be fair, the portbella mushroom sandwich is very tasty.

My boyfriend loves burgers and while I don’t, you have to give in every now and then right? So I went with him to this new place in the Loop the other day called ‘Epic Burger.’ I ordered a portabella mushroom sandwich, side of fries and a milk n honey smoothie. I am a big smoothie person and can honestly say that it was the best smoothie I have ever had. I plan on returning to Epic based on their smoothie selection alone! In addition to my great smoothie, the food wasn’t bad either. The fries were very flavorful and not overly greasy. I dipped them in this yummy sauce they have called ‘Epic Sauce.’ My portabella sandwich was also awesome and it was a nice to have options other than just burgers at a burger place. I will definitely come here again, maybe even without my boyfriend!

I have been looking for a place to get a ‘health friendly’ burger for a while, so I was psyched to hear that Epic Burger was moving into town. I went in the other day and ordered a turkey burger and a strawberry smoothie. (Even though I got a smoothie I think it’s great that they offer fat free frozen yogurt shakes.) Loved the fact that I could get my burger on a whole wheat bun, I was able to enjoy it more and not feel guilty! My strawberry smoothie was blended to a perfect creamy consistency (not too icy not too creamy) and had lots of flavor. In addition to the great food, the place itself has an awesome vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

Stopped in at Epic Burger between classes the other day with little time and little cash. I am a picky eater and was not sure if I would be into the different cheeses and healthy alternatives, but I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the All Natural Epic Burger with a side of fries and a chocolate shake. Everything was delicious! The best part of my lunch was by far the burger; I actually really liked the aged cheddar. I’m more of a ranch girl but the Epic sauce was so good that I asked for an extra side of it. My shake was also awesome, thick and creamy and very chocolaty. The price was reasonable and well worth it. I will definitely be making this a regular lunch spot!

Epic Burger lives up to its name! The Jr was so big that I am glad I noticed the option on the menu. The true classic Epic Burger is too big for my tummy to handle!
The cashier who took the order messed it up even though she asked everything 2x, but the owner fixed it fast and and what a burger!! It was worth the hiccup.
This was the most satifying lunch I have had in ages in the LOOP!! Its a great addition to the neighborhood. Next time I won't do carry out...I will stick around and eat it while its hot!

Just finished my first Epic Burger and had to def say that this was one of the BEST burgers I've ever had. To me, its probably the closest I can get to In and Out Burger without a plane ticket, which is a great honor I think. Parking sucks, but otherwise I'm really glad that I live close to this gem in the South Loop and will be back many times!
Report This Reviewif you go here, definitely order french fries! you get a huge bag and they are delicious! if you're not that hungry order a junior burger. it's the perfect size. the strawberry malts are also really good too. they make them with real strawberries. the atmosphere and service are great too!
Report This ReviewSeriously...toasty bun, huge burger patty dripping with juice, flavorful, fresh toppings - I love it! Fries are awesome and shakes super tasty as well. The decor' is hip and I enjoy that whenever I've gone, America's Funniest Home Videos is on the flat screen. :) Only down side is price. It is very expensive for a burger joint. Organic and free-range is good, but makes you pay. I only go once every couple months...but I definitely look forward to my visits.
Report This ReviewThe atmosphere is very cool, but unfortunately the food is terrible. I kept my order rather basic---just a burger and fries. Well the fries were limp and the burger was cooked into oblivion. Also, the very crispy burger was drenched in a mystery sauce, in a lame attempt at rehydration. Have a soda and people watch and eat somewhere else.
Report This ReviewI decided to try out the new burger place that my coworker had heard such raving reviews about. After all, its always good to find new places for lunch.
First, a couple comments about the restaurant itself. Epic burger portrays itself as a health, earth conscious restaurant and tries to do so by serving natural and organic products. This is very commendable but one of the first things I noticed was that stepping into the restaurant by itself might not be the healthiest choice. I don't mean it was dirty or there were rats running around the place, it was very clean. What I mean is the floor is extremely slippery! I could not help but notice that I could almost ice skate across their floor. This was on a sunny day! I can imaging the chaos that could occur there if the floor was slightly wet.
Anyway enough about the floor. I ordered the cheeseburger combo and sat at a table waiting patiently for my food. When it came it looked pretty good until I picked it up to take my first bite. When I looked closely at the burger patty it appeared to be extremely over fried and crisp. My first bite confirmed that. I would have mistaken the crispiness that I felt for bacon except that there was no bacon on the burger! I have never in my life eaten a burger that crunched in my mouth every time I took a bite.
They also brag that their fries are great but I have to dispute that as well. My fried were very limp and unseasoned despite their claim that their fries are seasoned with sea salt. Maybe they use one crystal of sea salt per batch of fries?
Overall this place was a huge disappointment and I will be steering way clear of this place again.
