Worth the trip!

Lem’s barbeque is worth the trip. I have had the center cut, and the rib tips, and both were great. The meat was tender, and you could taste the spices and smokey flavor in every bite. It is a carry out only, compact (i.e., small) establishment, but the line moves fast due to a limited menu. I also tried Smoque on the northwest side, and it was the first time I had tender, tasteless brisket. I don’t need to spend my money again at Smoque.

The rib tips were burned and the service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!

The staff could use a lot of training in customer service.

If you want great rib tips and service DO NOT visit this establishment.

I shall NOT return.

Not the best!!

Lem's may be the best in the south but not here, not at least last night. I was so embarrassed when I got home to find that every rib tip was burnt with very little sauce. In the past I had an okay experience. I should have opted for crispy chicken. As for the price a large tip is actually $11.00. The service was okay (just kidding) the lady behind the window kept screaming large tip $11.00, maybe it would have been better if she said it with a smile. But hey it's not Burger King so I can't get it may way. I will say that I'm a sucker for punishement I will give them one more chance in the near but distant future.

Chicago is known for its 'Taste Fest' (Taste of Chicago). I often wondered why Lems is never represented. If you've eaten at Lems you'll know why...Simply the BEST...! NO CONTEST...! NO VENDOR WOULD GET ANY BUSINESS IF LEMS REPRESENTED...!

My motto is "If there isn't smoke, It's not Barbeque." On any Summer night you can smell the smoke a block away!
Lem's offers the best slow cooked, hickory smoked ribs and hot links in the city. The sauce is spicy and not thick. Sevice is quick and Lem's only offers carry-out.

If you are interested in really good BBQ, Lem's is the best. I've been traveling from the Suburbs to the south side for over 20 years just for a small end of Ribs (and the hot links are absolutely fabulous)! The atmosphere isn't the best (59th & State), but the food is always on point.

Often passed over when rib joints are rated in the Chicagoland area. I have found Lems to be the best pork ribs I've ever eaten. The ribs are cooked in a wood burning oven. This preparation combined with a great secret sauce makes for some really tasty eating. Although I now live on the East Coast I always make it a point to steer friends who are travelling to Chicago to the 75th street location.
