South Water Kitchen: User Reviews
What a great idea... picnic baskets on the patio. We indulged and shared a lunch for 2, complete with checkered table cloth. Tasy and creative! Service was very attentive as well. Good food and a lot of fun.

My husband and I dined on their patio a few nights ago. Not that busy, yet, we were never even approached by the server upon our arrival. After 15 minutes of being ignored, I alerted the hostess that we wanted to move inside so that we could finally have service. She then, thankfully, took it upon herself to take care of us - which she did very well! We still never saw our server until she did two things: brought our 2nd round of drinks and brought our bill. No acknowledgement, no apology - and none from the manager either. It was completely unacceptable - they had no idea how terrible they were! The rest of the staff seemed equally incompetent.
I do have to say though- the onion and goat cheese dip was good, as was my salmon.
Would never go back though on account of one of the worst services I've ever experienced. What a shame.

I've walked by this place so many times over the past four years, and I finally made it the other day. I decided on lunch by myself. I sat outside facing towards the Trump Tower, watching the construction elevators go up and down. It's a great area to do some people watching too. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and a side of onion rings. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, though. The portions are great. Mmm the onion rings were amazing, and HUGE. I will definitely come back before the weather turns.

Every time I eat here that is how I feel. I remember one very spectacular lunch that comprised of seared ahi tuna (perfectly seared and seasoned!!) over Jerusalem couscous with grapes. I can't tell you how marvelous it was. The staff is great, extremely friendly but not overly attentive. Perfect all around!

I arrived at South water at 12:10PM for lunch, was seated by 12:15, things were going great. My mouth was watering as the waiter described the tomato mozzarella flat bread. I ordered a cobb salad, nothing special, not too difficult of a dish. Flat bread promptly comes out at 12:23. Was bland and boring. 20 minutes later, no salad. When it finally came at 12:50, I was quite disappointed. It tasted like someone threw salt all over my salad, perhaps I offended someone. After sitting for almost an hour, I missed my 1:00 meeting and was fired upon my return to the office.

What a beautiful patio!!! My group enoyed everything from the smoked salmon to the half pound burger. Seriously, a great brunch spot!!
Report This ReviewI absolutely loved this place! The waiter was really nice, even drawing us a map of places to go. The food was delicious & prices reasonable.
Report This ReviewWe took our kids to see High School Musical and ate here before the show. Great selection and an affordable kids menu. Great service got us to the show on time even though we were running late.
