Pastry chefs Phoebe Walters and Kate McNamara, the duo behind this Boystown gourmet cupcake shop, have big plans for their little sweets. If all goes according to plan, it's to be the first in a national chain of stores serving cupcakes, pastries and fair trade coffee from The Coffee and Tea Exchange. So what sets these sweet treats apart from the goods at every other cupcake shop in town? Walters and McNamara focus on high-end ingredients, using whole vanilla beans, fresh-fruit garnishes and other gourmet touches. They've also got more than 200 flavors up their sleeves, from strawberry mojito to mint chocolate chip. Cupcakes are baked in small batches throughout the day, so you're always guaranteed a fresh treat.
