Besides all the great things I can say about the food, the coffee, the pastries and the soups. the patio in this place isexceptionsl.
I am not talking about their sidewalk cafe. their sidewalk cafe is also great and perfect for sun bathing and people watching. They have a second patio in the back of the building with a fountain and tables and Couches. So you can go back there and kick back on an outdoor couch or lounge chair with an ottoman. it does suck that the back patio closes at 4 pm while the place is open much later. However, I'll take my monday morning coffee and the paper back there any time I can get it!

I am surprised at myself that after all the years I've been going to Letizia's, after all the dozens of new sandwich and lunch places that have opened on diviion, I still find myself going here twice a week!
Maybe it's the warm feeling that I get when I walk in, like I walking into someone's place, not an architect's concept. Maybe it's the fact that after waiting in line in front of the enormous pastry display of cupcakes and cookies, I always go home with one. Maybe it's the back garden where I can drink my iced moka away from the sirens of division. Maybe i's all of the above.
Love the new chicken salad express panini. also try the "Bealla Capri" (baguette, tomato, baby mozz and pesto) and ask them to add prosciutto.

I've been coming to Letizia's pretty regularly for a little over a year now and I simply can't get enough. The baked goods are amazing. I can't walk in to this place and not drool over their pastry display. I would strongly reccomend the Vanilla Cupcakes with Raspberry Butter Cream Frosting. Mmmmmmmmm. The thought of those cupcakes makes me want to run over there right now. Actually, I think I will...
The staff is also a lot of fun. Sure, everyone has their up and down days but the people here never fail to be nice and fun. Overall, it's a great place to come, hang out and have some really really good deserts.

The girl behind the counter asked me three times if my order was to go or stay. I have to say that the fact that she was incredibly beautiful made it all seem cute. The sandwiches were really good. Mine didn't have the gardinere it claimed, but it still was really good. I have never been disapointed here.

Letizia's is a hidden gem! I have never had a bad meal at this place and the wine list is phenomenal! Make sure you save room for desert. The chocolate cupcakes are out of this world. The owner, Fabio, mixed rustic Italian classics with new and innovative ingredients (the venison bolognese and marble spread polenta with tomato sauce are my favorites).
Highly recommended!

I am a big sandwich guy and I keep coming back to this place. While there are many sandwich place in the city, what draws me back to this place is their bread. they make this focaccio bread that when grilled is just perfect and lioke nothing else.
Note: even though some of the sanwiches are made on whole wheat bread or on baguettes, you can just ask the order taker to make it on focaccia. other great thing is that sandwiches are not $10!!!!! Straight up, what's up with the sandwich prices around town? since when is "flavored mayonaise" worth $10 bucks a sandwich!
Great Patio and the great value still draw me back every time

I do love the panini, the pastries and the kick ass coffee. And yes, the staff is friendly and helpful, but one of the great pleasures is to go and get my soup or whatever and sit while reading a book.
one of the peculiarities of this place is that it attracts so many different kinds of people. It's a great lunch to be abkle to sit in silence, enjoy some tasty food and justy observe the interactions.
The outside patios are great too. If Iwant to people watch or mingle, I sit in the sidewalk cafe. If I want to just relax and work on my laptop, then I sit in the flower filled back garden. The Wifi aint free, but it works well and theroughout the garden as well.

My family was visiting from out of town and we decided to go somewhere for lunch. I used to live right down the street from Letizias and was in every morning for a mufffin and coffee, so I decided to come back being that it had been a while. Wow was I impressed! I've never had lunch here before but let me tell you the paninis were amazing. The bread that they grill it on is so moist and fresh there is no doubt its homemade. My whole family was raving about our lunch here all the way back to my place. If you're in the neighborhood and hungry definitely check this place out

I've been coming to Letizia's for quite a while now and this place never really disappoints me! They have amazing coffee, and their bagels and muffins are to die for. I've also had a few paninis that were amazing! I was in this past weekend and they have even started table service during the day where they offer beer, wine and pizza. I totally ordered a 2 glasses of Delirium, ate some pizza, read my book and hung out on the Patio and just watched the world pass by me on Division. In my mind, there is no better way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon.

What a great place this is still. the original division street place, Letizia's has been our spot since we moved to the neighborhood in 1999. Great panini, awesome cogfee. Pastries and muffins: to die for. The place has grown and adapted to the year. there is usually one major Change or addition to either the food or the place every few moths. I always get the feeling of a place in evolution with its customers
We feel that same warmth now that we felt then, every time we walk in. Friendly faces, great product. Perhaps that is why we find ourselves making muultiple visits on one day, coffe in the morning and panini at lunch. Or sometimes panini for lunch and then gelato after dinner.
THE HIPSTER FACTOR:
Not to be underestimated, the hipster factor of the Bohemian young people that work there. Maybe that's what the other people were cpmplaining about below. However, when you understand these "young rebels" they are harmless. I feel a neighborhood cafe should be staffed and run by these modern day hippies, otherwise it would be like corner bakery or starbucks right?
