The original owner and namesake of this split-level bar was Karl Laschet, prominent in the German community and pictured in one of the many photographs in the bar marching with the late Mayor Richard J. Daley. Matt Lodge is the current owner (he took over in 2007), but Laschet's Inn is still festooned with German memorabilia, including ceramic mugs hanging from wooden beams installed below a paneled ceiling. The authentic German cuisine features rouladen, goulash and wiener schnitzel. The bar ofers 12 European beer on tap, including seasonals, plus more than 20 bottles.
