Jolane's Cafe and Wine Bar: User Reviews
Jolane's Cafe and Wine Bar

My boyfriend and I were sent to Jolane's after making a purchase at ABT. We had free coupons for coffee . We had a terrific waiter, Phil.
We also were lucky enough to meet Kris, the manager. His knowledge of wine was unbelievable and his suggestion made my boyfriend want a bottle to take home (it was fantastic- something by "Three Rings" Winery).
The food was made to order, fresh, hot and delicious. My boyfriend, Adam, especially loved the veal broth. He thought his spaetzle was authentic "European-" and he loved the braised beef. I was not as hungry, but I really enjoyed my entree salad.
We were too full for the desert, but we made sure to take home the strudel. Adam had the apple and I enjoyed the cheese for breakfast the next morning and let me say this- DELICIOUS!
I couldn't ask for more! Wonderful ambience, attentive and friendly service, lovely food- at a reasonable price- we were in heaven.
We even forgot about our free coupons.

I dropped my 13 year old off at Viking Cooking school and walked over to Jolane's at 10am. They don't open until 11am. But the door was unlocked to let employees in and I poked my head in. "Come in." said Benjamin. "We aren't serving yet but you're welcome to have a cup of coffee and sit at a table." Later Ethan the manager came over, saw I was working on my lap-top and asked if I was able to connect to the WIFI. I hadn't tried yet, but I did, hence this review. I haven't had anything to eat yet, the Vienna Torte looks very tempting, like the Sacre Tort in Vienna itself. But the service and staff have been spectacular. March 2009

We had dinner here in July, 2008 and loved the food and value.
What happened? Invited several friends to have dinner at Jolane's Cafe last night.
The menu has really changed and prices much higher, Who ever heard a baked potatoe for $4.00. The original dinner included soup or salad, now all is ala acart.
I guess now there are cloths on the marble tables, the prices are much higher and and the quality and portion of the food is not nearly as good as before.
After each having a dinner entree, we all left hungery.
What a shame, we'll not be coming back to this place again!

I have now been to Jolane's twice and on both occasions have loved it! The food is great and the ambiance is warm and relaxing. On a recent Friday night, there was even live music. This is a great place to unwind from a long day or a destination to meet up with friends. The outdoor patio is a nice spot to take in the nice weather. Overall - a great find!

We were at the Abt design center and stumbled upon this place. It is great. The ambiance is good, the service is great. The food and the desserts are excellent. The wine selections are good. It is a casual place but the food is great. Definitely recommended.

Like most folks that make the transition to the burbs, the biggest thing you miss are the restaurants. However, the transition has been an easy one in Glenview so far with places like, FredHots, Yardhouse and Tatami to name a few. Jolane's was a total surprise - extensive menu, great food, great service and great ambiance - looking forward to the patio in the supper. Coffee was outstanding and we had the burgers on a pretzel bun. Going back already and this time taking others to join us. Definitely check it out.
