With its antique, dark wood decor, brick fireplace, and stained-glass windows, this Teutonic restaurant evokes an Old World atmosphere. Although it offers 16 draft beers (mostly German), has beer steins lined up along wall ledges and European flags fluttering amidst its spacious dining room, this isn't an "oom-pa-pa type" of place. Edelweiss boasts that with its linen service, wide selection of German cordials and appetizers such as Hackpeter (steak tartare) and wine-poached escargots, it's more in the tradition of upscale Austrian dining than a rustic beer stube.
