Bavaria Hof: User Reviews
Bavaria Hof
933 S. Roselle Rd. - Schaumburg847-891-7997
Food is below average and portions are small. The only good thing about it is beer and that guy playing every possible instrument. Entrees are expensive and definitely not worth it. Don't come if you are hungry. Don't come if you want an authentic German food. You won't find it here.
Report This ReviewIf I could select ZERO stars I would. The only thing worthwhile at Bavaria Hof is the beer. It started when we called to reserve, I hadn't noticed that you can't reserve with parties of less than 6, the lady on the phone almost yelled at me that it was impossible to reserve, when I asked how busy it would be around 6pm she claimed "she had no idea"...
Food was simply dreadful, Wiener Schnitzel was covered in mushrooms (I have never seen a Wiener come with mushrooms without asking for them) and was drenched in fat, Spatzle was cold and bland and red cabbage was cold and soggy.
I've had many 100's of meals in Germany and not once was I served anything this bad. Live music was dreadful as the artist performing was obviously not very good at German. Total price for 2 people incl. 2 beers was $58.
Report This ReviewWe had relatives coming in from out of town and our favorite German restaurant was closed for vacation. I found Bavaria House on Metromix and decided to give it a try, in spite of the June 8, 2003 review I read. We all found the food to be fabulous. The service was attentive and the atmosphere reminded us of an old German restaurant (since closed) we used to frequent. Give Baviaria House a try, as we did.
