Kyoto does charge a corkage fee for wine that is $5.00 per bottle. We ate there on Saturday and the sushi was good but the service was poor. For one they were having a problem with their heat and so it was freezing in the place and even the waitress commented when she thought she felt it turn on for a minute. Now onto that waitress - we rarely saw her and it took us over 45 minutes to even order appetizers after we had been seated. They did waive the cork fee for the third bottle of wine since we had been waiting so long which was reasonable. Service is always spotty in Chicago so you can't put too much faith in it - she may have just been having a bad night. Luckily the company we were with made the wait tolerable. We will all be back for the delicious sushi and the BYOB.
