It was supposed to be basically biscuits and gravy with a poached egg.. The gravy had no flavor or seasoning...it should have some spice and some salt...It was totally lacking.
Firsth impressions mean everything....I won't be back.

I have eaten here about 4-5 times, and thoroughly enjoyed it everytime. I'm from NC originally, so it's great for me to have blackeyed peas and collards as side dish options. I even brought my mom here when she visited me, and she loved it. I recommend their seafood options. The only thing wrong with the place is that they are not open Monday night.

Since our daughter joined us, 10 months ago, we have really come to appreciate this restaurant. The food is consistently good and hearty, the wait staff is cordial and best of all we can bring our daughter without worry. They also serve breakfast for dinner which I love. The last few times we have been there they have had a live jazz band in the evening which just added to the great mood of the place. We look forward to our meals here.

We took our kids (ages 9 and 7) to Wishbone on a Friday night and had a really great experience. We found a metered parking space right across the street. The restaurant is large and open with a colorful chicken motif. We were seated right away. The staff was friendly and responsive. My husband described the food as tasting like homemade, which is spot on. Not fancy, but good.
There was a fair number of toddlers there. I saw this as a good thing since nobody would notice my own kids. Our boys were given crayons and pictures to color. There was a separate laminated kids menu. Sides for them are ordered separately, even though they come with the adult meals.
After the demise of Bennigan's, it was great to find a family-friendly restaurant (with a liquor license) much closer to home.

This restaurant consistently serves up great comfort food at reasonable prices. The fried chicken and smothered pork chops (regular specials) are some of the best in the city. Service is friendly and generally swift. Recomended for breakfast or dinner.

I was disappointed with the speediness of getting the food out of the kitchen.
The french toast was okay, I was hoping for ooh la la!
Two tables were pushed together for us, one being a "kiddie table".
Two people were expected to eat on the unlevel edges of the two tables together.
Did I mention the folding chair we also had at our table when other chairs were available?
I was warned of the place but did not heed the warning. Silly Goose

My husband and I decided to try Wishbone on New Years Eve Day after a friend recommended it to us. What a mistake! It took 20 minutes after we were seated just to get menus and water! The host apologized, explaining that they were unprepared for the rush of people (since it was a Monday) and tried to fix things by offering us free fruit before our meal came out. Things seemed to be getting better until it took more than an hour to get our meal (and we are talking French Toast here!!) The French Toast was average (I had the plain, my husband had the crunchy) but certainly not worth all of the problems. The only time our waiter was quick was when he brought us the check. No need to go to this place when there are so many other great brunch places in the neighborhood -- go to Orange or Kitsch'n instead!

The menu includes the traditional Southern cuisine, with some unique takes on it. The bread pudding is to die for! Definitely enough to share. The wait staff was curteous, and the specialty drinks were generous and well mixed!
