I visited Pearl's Place for the first time today and was very pleased. The restaurant is kept very neat and clean. There is plenty of space and the food was great! I would highly recommend the salmon croquettes. The service was a little slow, but I would expect that with a "soul food" restaurant. I will be back there soon. Oh, the waitress told us that fried chicken takes about 45 minutes because it's battered and fried fresh. So call ahead if you go on lunch.

I love Pearl's Place. The service can be a bit slow, but the hostesses are so nice that you overlook it. Their fried catfish is fantastic. This is a southside gem that I'm glad I stumbled upon.
