I had was pleasantly suprised with the food, but mostly the service. There was a slim gentleman huslting and bustling to insure everything was ready for a small business dinner they were about to have in there. On top of that they took care of the other guests quite well. He in fact came by the table and greeted me. Thomas I believe was his name. Not sure if he was the Manager or not, but you can see he takes pride in what he does and the staff followed is every lead. In time this place will explode with business. I live nearby in a high rise and we neighbors were so happy to see a new place nearby and the ambiance before had something missing, but my return trip today with the quality of food and service has left me with a fond memory and I will return soon...You must try the cold asian salad....SUPERIOR!!!!!!

I walked in to get something quick to eat from the counter at the front. A sign advertised a short menu of "quick" salads and sandwiches as well as some other items made-to-order. Since I was in a hurry, I chose a chicken salad from the quick menu. The cashier rang up the wrong price, but then fixed it. Twenty minutes later, I was informed that the chef had made me a chicken sandwich, not a chicken salad because they didn't have any more "chicken salad." Whatever. The cashier pleaded with me to take the sandwich, so I asked what was on it. She told me there was just chicken and spinach and that it was very good. So, since I was already running late, I took the sandwich and left. When I opened it 5 minutes later, I found that it had not only chicken, but two kinds of pork. I will never go there again. No one was at the restaurant and now I know why.

My wife and I have dined at Fornetto Mei many times before coming here and were not disappointed with Fornetto and Mei's Kitchen. It is a dressed down compared to its sister restaurant but the food and wine are just as good. Staff is friendly, service is good, prices are in line with the area. This place is a much needed addition to the area and am glad there is more variety in the great South Loop.

WHAT A GREAT ADDITION TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE FOOD IS VERY UNIVERSAL, THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! tHE BAR RIVALS SOME OF THE CITY'S TOP RESTAURANTS WITH A RETAIL WINE SHOP THAT IS SECOND TO NONE. I HAVE ONLY SEEN PLACES LIKE THIS OVERSEAS. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE PATIO TO OPEN IN THE SPRING!

The food court feel is a little bit strange, but there is promise for this new south loop local. The pizza's are great and pasta dishes looked good.
So what's the problem? Everything is way overpriced especially the drinks - you would have to be drunk to even consider paying 10 dollars for a shot or mixed drink. And what's the deal with no refills on soft drinks?
In the end, I'm glad to see this place in the neighborhood but if the prices don't come down it may not be in the neighborhood for long.

This place is WAAAAY overpriced, I grabbed a panini there which was cold, and $6.50 thats a bit much for just a panini, I also ate a danish here one morning which was raw, the staff is nice but they seem really confused and it takes forever to get anything,

enjoyed the food although service was bad. I had pizza and my friend had the chicken. She brought the pizza 10 minutes after bringing the cchicken so we sat there looking at the chicken which was cold by the time the pizza came and what is it with that big typo error on the table placard. Anybody proof read that thing before it went to the printer?

We stopped in to see what this was about. What we found was a great food court. I had a wood oven pizza and my friend had some Asian food. I liked the way you pay with the pass card. The wine list is just amazing! I live just around the block and was happy to see something fast and simple near bye.
