A dining institution on the South Side, Army & Lou's has a large, loyal clientele, drawn by its menu of high-end soul food. It was once a favored dining spot for Harold Washington, Chicago's first black mayor, and still attracts a good number of politicians to its tables. There are two main dining rooms and a private room to the right of the entrance that can seat between 20 and 30 people. A children's menu offers fish sticks and chicken nuggets.
